Teaching Assignment : Kindergarten
Extra Duties : FCA Huddle Coach
Colleges Attended : I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. Recently I have gone back to school and earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State College in 2006.
Job Experience : This is my 11th year of teaching. I have taught elementary education and special education in Wymore, Holdrege, and Palmyra/Bennet. I taught 3rd grade for 5 years here at Elgin Public Schools. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten.
Biography : My husband, Philip, teaches Agricultural Education here at Elgin Public and is the FFA sponsor. We have 4 children: Logan, Kelsey, Dillon and Kaitlyn. They keep us very busy. We enjoy our 3 horses and our 2 dogs, Rusty and Molly. Both my husband and I are originally from Burwell and enjoy going "back home" to see family. My husband and I sponsor the FCA Huddle here at Elgin and enjoy the group very much. My hobbies include scrapbooking, swimming, and reading.
Teaching Goals : My teaching goal is to help develop the love of learning for my students. I want my students to understand the relevance of what they are learning and how it will impact their lives. I like to challenge my students to discover more and ask questions, while having a little fun along the way!
