Veterans Day Program

Launch the media gallery 1 playerElgin Public Schools hosted their annual Veterans Day Program for students and community members. The Colors were advanced by the VFW and American Legion. Principal Mr. Corey Fisher led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Elgin High Band playing the Star Spangled Banner.
Caitlin Mortensen gave the invocation, followed the band playing "American Patrol" and "Let Freedom Ring". Grant Beckman recited a patriotic reading for everyone. Mr. Fisher gave the welcome and recognized the Veterans.
A salute to the military currently serving our country was presented in the form of a slideshow created by Paula Jensen. Brandy Suhr continued the program with another patriotic reading.
The combined choirs of Elgin High and Pope John featured the selections "I Am But A Small Voice" and "She's More Than Just Another Flag". Jenna Schindler and Gabe Wiegand played "Taps" as the colors were retired by the VFW and American Legion.
