2008 Elgin Eagle Track

The Elgin Eagle Track Team competed at the D-7 District Track Meet in Burwell. Both the girls and boys did a great job of competing. The Elgin boys were District Runner-Up at the track meet. The Eagles last district title was over 25 years ago. Qualifying for the State Meet were Clint Meis in the 100, 200, and 400, Matt Anderson, 110m high hurdles, 300m intermediate hurdles, Justine Meis, 3200m run and our boys 4X4 team consisting of Matt Anderson, Clint Meis, Chris DeWald, and Tyler Johnson.

Boys District Runner-Up

Many other student athletes competing at the meet brought home medals. In the boys division there was Chris DeWald (6^th in long jump, and 4^th in High Jump), Nathan Niewohner (5^th high jump), Austin Stamp (5^th pole Vault, personal best), and our 4x800 relay consisting of Michael Miller, Tyler Johnson, Tyler Reestman and Kevin Schindler place 4^th. In the Girls division, Samantha Janssen placed 6^th in the 400m Dash, Brittany Kubert placed 5^th in the 200m dash, and our 4X400 team consisting of Samantha Janssen, Justine Meis, Brittany Kubert and Michelle Bauer placed 4^th .
