Jolly Roger: King O' the Piratesis this year's one-act play. If you are interested in joining the one-act team, tryouts will be held after Labor Day. To prepare, you may borrow a script and prepare a segment with the character you would like to be. For questions and scripts, see Mrs. Walsh.
FCCLA Recruitment Mtg. Tues. Sept. 2nd 6:30 p.m. in the History Room. Current members and those interested in joining FCCLA should come for supper and the mtg.

Mrs. Walsh is looking for students interested in helping launch a volunteer recycling program here at the school. Initial activities will include painting new 'recycle' and 'reuse' boxes for use in classrooms, creating a schedule for emptying recycling containers, discussion of the new paper recycling plan, and planning recycling activities. Please let Mrs. Walsh know if you are interested in being a part of this group!
2008 Yearbooks for sale for $28. Bring in a check made out to "Elgin Public Schools" to purchase your lifetime of memories! See Mrs. Heithoff.
RECYCLING NEWS: On average, one person will use up to 7 trees worth of paper products per year. This year any paper-based product can be placed in the recycle boxes around school—office paper, magazines, cardboard, chip board, etc. More details on this change later! Also, keep up the great work placing your empty pop cans in the designated containers around campus. Finally, help up recycle plastics by placing your Gatorade bottles in the container near the trashcans at lunch.

Congratulations to Kim & Carlie Wells on the birth of their son, Cobe Joseph Wells, born Monday! He weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and is 21 1/2 “ long.
