9:35-10:10   3-4 Music:  Monday(4) No Class   CS    Tuesday(3) Do helper box.  Go over class rules.  Book p. 4: experience steady beat thru moving and playing instruments.  Learn verse refrain or AB form.  CS 1.2, 1.4, 3.3   Wednesday(4) Do helper box.  Go over class rules.  Book p. 6: sing and show beat with song about your day.  Discuss what your day would be like.  CS 1.2, 1.6   Thursday(3) Make music portfolios to keep work in for spring conferences.  CS 10.5  Friday(4)  Make music portfolios to keep work in for spring conferences.  CS 10.5

11:47-12:37   Planning Period

 

1:07-1:57   Band/Chorus:  Monday (B) Welcome.  Go over calendar project, sign up sheet.   Tuesday(C)  Welcome.  Go over rules and grading.  Also touch on performances, dress code, etc to start year.  Do warm-ups.  Divide choir into sections.  Begin work on SSB parts, sight sing song and work on Battle Hymn for clinic.   Wednesday(B) Go over rules and grading.  Discuss calendars, performances, band trip, uniforms, etc. to start year.  Try on band shoes and put name on them and music slots.  Pass out new songs to sight read for parades.  Drum Majorette?  Thursday(C)  Warmups. Rehearse SSB parts, sight sing more of new song for skills.  Continue work on Battle Hymn for clinic.  Sing pop song for fun.  Friday(B) Discuss calendars – collect money.  Warmups.  Rehearse songs for parades and homecoming.  Rehearse SSB, fight song, drum cadence, continue with new songs possible for parades.  Assign drum parts.  Drum majorette??

 

2:00-2:30   1-2 Music:   Monday(2)  No Class today.   CS   Tuesday(1) Do helper box.  Go over class rules.  Book p. 4: beat or no beat in songs.  Talk about examples of each you hear each day.  CS 1.2,1.4   Wednesday(2) Do helper box.   Go over class rules.  Book p. 4: sing Zudio for fun.  Learn actions.  Discuss what a beat is.   CS 1.2, 1.3   Thursday (1)  Make music portfolios to keep work in for spring conferences.  Read “Music Teacher from Black Lagoon” while coloring.  CS 10.5  Friday(2) Make music portfolios to keep work in for spring conferences.  CS 10.5 

 

2:50-3:10   Kind. Music: Tuesday  Read “Music Teacher from Black Lagoon”   Sing 3 Little Monkeys and Silly Songs if time.  CS 7.4   Thursday: Play Wonder Ball Game to learn names.   Do rhythm claps.  CS 5.2, 7.4   Friday:  PE today   CS
