PLEASE be preparing for your state degree Interview that is Wednesday Feb. 10th (in your email). The bus leaves EPS at 7:30 am, be in official dress, have money for breakfast and lunch in O'Neill. You will be back for 7th and 8th hours.

MONDAY:    JH BBall vs. CWC 3:30 p.m.  (EPS Gym)  JH the girls will play first at 3:30.  The CWC boys only had 5 players and had one player break their hand so will not have enough to play.  So we will not play CWC for boys JH.  We will however play an intersquad game/scrimmage following the girls game.  It will be officiated and treated just like a normal game but will be against ourselves.

Kenny and Alois were crowned Duet Champions

The OID of Dylan Widger, Morgan Carpenter, Leslie Linares, Lydia Behnk, and Kira Widger earned 6th place medals.

 

We also had many other close calls, with some events narrowly missing finals.

The first grade class and FCCLA will be having a food drive during the EPPJ and Humphrey/LHF basketball game on January 28.   They are collecting food for the local food pantry in celebration of their 100th day of school. They are asking for help from everyone.   Anyone wanting to donate can bring food to the basketball game.

K-12 students from EPPJ will get in free if they donate a food item.

 

THURSDAY ----- the boys basketball team will be hosting a soup/chili cook-out during the ballgames.  Sample the soups, vote for your favorite, grab a bowl to enjoy!   $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for Children under age 10

The first grade class will be having a food drive during the EPPJ and Humphrey/LHF basketball game on January 28.    They are collecting food for the local food pantry in celebration of their 100th day of school. They are asking for help from everyone.   Anyone wanting to donate can bring food to the basketball game.  

 

The EPPJ basketball game vs Clarkson/Leigh has been rescheduled for Friday Feb. 12th.  Everything else will be the same. 4:00 start time EPS Gym

 

Jan. 28th the boys basketball team will be hosting a soup/chili cook-out during the ballgames.   Contact Mr. Scott Becker if you are interested in entering the contest!

Congratulations to all the FFA members on their performances last Wednesday at the district Leadership Skills Events. 

Qualifying for state were: 

Trey Baum and Lexie Heithoff in Agricultural Demonstration- 1st

Marie Meis in Natural Resource speaking - 1st

Liz Selting in Cooperative Speaking-2nd

Alternate to state was Dylan Widger in Sr. Public speaking

 

Kyle Schumacher and Trey Baum also made finals in creed speaking and Job Interview. 

All other Elgin contestants earned blue ribbons in their events. 

As a chapter, Elgin was 3rd overall out of 12 schools in our FFA district.

                The Elgin Education Association will be sponsoring a book fair for students in grades Pre-K-12.

                The fair will be located in the EPS lunch room and will open on Thursday, December 17th at 3:45 until shortly before the annual Christmas concert begins. Sales will continue for approximately one hour following the concert.
