FFA Livestock Judgers perform well at districts!
Jr. Livestock Judging Team wins District 10 FFA Livestock judging contest! Grant Beckman wins Sr. Reasons!
The Jr. Team of Ethan Fischer, Christian Dunn, Trent Bauer, & Brett Kinney were District Champions at the District 10 livestock judging contest held Wednesday, October 26th in Spencer, NE! FFA Chapters competing in the district event were: Wheeler Central, Burwell, Loup County, Elgin, O’Neill, Atkinson, Ainsworth, Stuart, West Boyd, Rock County, and Valentine.
Ethan Fischer was also the Jr. Division Champion while Christian placed 3rd, Trent 12th, and Brett was 33rd out of 182 competitors! They will be representing the Elgin FFA chapter at State in March!
Other junior division students who placed in the top 50% were: Mallory Fangman, Morgan Childers, Jace Lammers, Jon Meis, Tanner Welding, Baylie Schiltmeyer, and Bailey Carpenter.
In the Sr. division the team of Grant Beckman, Justine Meis, Jared Seier, and Tyler Childers placed 5th overall. Individually, Grant was 3rd, Jared was 24th, Justine was 25th, and Tyler was 29th out of 120 competitors. They will be representing the Elgin FFA Chapter at State in March.
Other senior division students who placed in the top 50% were; Caleb Pelster, Blake Anderson, Cordell Waterbury, and Shane Vanis.

Junior Division: Beef: Brett Kinney – 11th, Ethan Fischer – 12th, Christian Dunn-17th. Sheep: Baylie Schiltmeyer – 13th, Ethan Fischer -17th, Christian Dunn -21st, and Trent Bauer-22nd. Swine: Ethan Fischer-3rd, Christian Dunn-9th, Brandon Funk-16th, and Jace Lammers-25th. Evaluations: Morgan Childers-4th, Jace Lammers-6th, Tanner Welding-10th, Baylie Schiltmeyer-11th, Christian Dunn-12th, Jon Meis-16th, and Ethan Fischer-25th.
