2012 Elementary Oil Pastel
Still Life Drawing
Like the Seventh graders last quarter, the Elementary Art classes are working on a pastel drawing of their previous still life designs. Oil pastels are a wax, oil crayon. The students can build up thick layers of the crayons creating very bright, colored drawings. They created their drawings on black paper to create contrast between the bright colors and dark paper. Because they had already drawn the still life design in pencil and charcoal they were able to complete their pastel designs in only two or three class periods.
