DISTRICT MUSIC CONTEST AND SPRING CONCERT SUPERIOR!
District Music Contest was held Friday, April 20, 2012 at Elkhorn Valley High School. Elgin Public Schools entries had a superior day and the students performed well! The results are as follows:
Concert Band – Superior (1+) from all 3 judges (one judge gave a perfect score!). The band was awarded a plaque for their efforts.
Choir – Superior (1) from all 3 judges as well, and also received a plaque.
Girls Vocal Quartet (Ashylyn DeWald, Madison Voborny, Stepanie Bode, Juliana Dunn) received a Superior (1).
Girls Vocal Quartet (Ivy Prater, Sharla Schindler, Hannah Kerkman, Hunter Thramer) received a Superior (1).
Girls Vocal Duet (Allison Koenig, Hayley Stamp) – Excellent (2)
Girls Vocal Duet (Hunter Thramer, Ashlyn DeWald) – Good (3)
Solos: Lisa Dohman – Vocal Solo – Excellent (2)
Truman Copeland – Snare Drum Solo – Superior (1)
Those groups and solos that entered District Music contest also performed a concert at Elgin Public School’s Gym on April 23rd. Congratulations to all participants on a job well done!
