EPS students Place 2nd in Statewide Finance Challenge!
The Nebraska Council on Economic Education recently sponsored an online Finance Challenge for Nebraska schools across the state to compete in. A rapid fire, 35 question quiz was given to a team of three to four students and was scored based number of right answers, wrong answers, and the time it took to complete it. All teammates had to completed the quiz individually on the computer and had to take it within one hour of each other.
Seniors Andrew Heithoff and Nick Heithoff and sophomores Tanner Welding and Kyle Heithoff, all students in Mrs. Selting’s Accounting I class, competed as a team in the competition on Tuesday, March 19 during their 5th hour class. Results were returned on Friday, March 29, 2013 and the team placed 2nd out of 285 high schools in the state of Nebraska that competed! They each won $15.00 cash and are now eligible to compete at the regional level on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Lincoln, NE. This competition will have them vying for over $14,000 in scholarship money!
Congratulations Nick, Andrew, Tanner and Kyle! We wish you luck in the regional competition!
