2014 Seniors

Senior Portrait Requirements

Blake looks good with his suit jacket, dress shirt and tie

Dear Parents and Seniors,
We just wanted to take a moment and let you know what the school needs for senior pictures before you make your appointments.  For their senior year the Class of 2014 will need a wallet-sized photo for the yearbook, webpage, class composite, school newsletter, senior slide show, the graduation program and the Elgin Review.  This picture is to be a formal, vertical, head and shoulder pose.  Zooming in on a photo that is too large results in a blurry picture, which is why it is important that the photo is a head and shoulder view.   Their clothing should be school, dress code appropriate (no hats, t-shirts, strapless, spaghetti straps, jeans etc.).  The boys need to wear a dress shirt and tie.  A suit jacket is nice but not required.  We will not use any photo that does not meet these requirements.

Juliana has a nice head and shoulders pose
The photo will be scanned (we do all photos digitally).  We also email the yearbook photo to the newspaper for their composites and Paula uses it for the newsletter write-ups and graduation program. This photo is also used in the graduation video. The newspaper often requests we send a senior photo for their articles as well.
IT IS IMPORTANT THESE PHOTOS ARE SUBMITTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THEY ARE USED BY SO MANY PEOPLE!

We will require a school, kindergarten photo of your child for the yearbook (please have their name on the back).   If you don't have a kindergarten photo, one that is as close as possible will do such as first grade.  The kindergarten picture is due by September 15th.  Please be locating these over the summer.  This photo will be scanned and returned to you.  Any size from student size to 8x10 is acceptable.

Andrew's portrait with a dress shirt and tie is also a nice look
Please turn in the yearbook/web/composite/newsletter/graduation program/video/newspaper picture immediately after Christmas vacation at the latest.  Turning it in after Thanksgiving vacation would be the best. The sooner we get the photos the sooner we can be working with them.  If photos are not submitted on time we will use their picture day photo. Paula also needs time to get the senior, newsletter articles ready as well.  The Elgin Review does two composites for the paper and needs the photos in a timely manner.

Most photographers will send photos directly to the school if you request it. Have them email them to Mrs. Heithoff at rheithof@esu8.org    By requesting this option, you may have the photo submitted before you order your prints.  Some photographers have a *Yearbook* option where you may purchase just one wallet for the yearbook instead of a full sheet. Thank you for your cooperation!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rita Heithoff and Mrs. Paula Jensen
