Valentines for Veterans
Valentine's Day 2014
The Elementary Art students and Mrs. Heithoff recently created over 100 "Valentines for Veterans" to help hospitalized Veterans celebrate Valentine's Day. The valentines were sent to Mrs. Heithoff's sister, Christine Studley, who is a nurse at the Phoenix Veterans Hospital and an alumni of our school (Class of 1982).
Nurse Studley distributed the valentines to veterans and nurses in the 4c telemetry department, the ICU, the 3b surgical ward and also added the valentines to her patients discharge instructions.
Nurse Studley said all of the patients and nurses loved the valentines and appreciated them very much! Many of the valentines are still on display. Click on the photo boxes to see some of the students hard work.
