Authors' Festival

On Saturday four 4th graders went to the Aspiring Young Authors' Festival at Wayne State College. Aubrei, Keyera, Baylee, and Blake first listened to published authors Judy Young and Charlotte Endorf speak about some of their books and the process of how they made them. Then they split into three groups and went to different sessions. One session was with Judy Young where they wrote a poem about eagles. Another session was with Charlotte Endorf where they wrote a story about how their lives related to Annie Oakley's life and giving back to others. The last session was reading a paper that they have written to a small group of their peers. Finally they met back up with the whole group and had an awards ceremony where they received their certificates. Afterwards we waited in line to buy books and get autographs!
