EPS Cadet Band Members Attend Neligh-Oakdale Honor Band
On Saturday, April 29th, EPS Cadet Band students attended the Neligh-Oakdale Honor Band in Neligh. Rehearsals started at 10:00 and culminated in a concert at 4:30. All three groups- 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, and Percussion Ensemble, did a tremendous job! Both bands played five selections, and the percussion ensemble performed three. With over 200 students in each ensemble, and 400 students overall, it was an amazing opportunity for our students to be able to attend this honor band. Everyone worked hard, and the concert was great!
Our upcoming music performances include Graduation, Elementary Spring Concert, and Memorial Day. Graduation will feature the choir, the Elementary concert will feature all students grades K-6, including PK-1 singers, 4th grade recorders, 5th and 6th grade bands, and the Mini Musical Let's Eat! with grades 2-6. Memorial Day will feature the band at both local cemeteries to honor our veteran's.
I want to send a huge thank you to all of the school board members, administrators, teachers, and parents that help to make these opportunities possible. Without your support, our music program here at Elgin would not be anything close to what it is, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I believe that studying music is one of the best lifelong pursuits that any person can make, and with your help that tradition of great music at Elgin will continue.
