U.S. Attorney's Office Asking For Help
The U.S. Attorney’s Office is asking for help protecting Nebraska’s students from Internet predators. One in seven youths receives an unwanted sexual solicitation online; one in three are exposed to sexual material online. Only 5% of those sexually solicited and 2% who encountered unwanted sexual material online told an adult.
Children in elementary schools are vulnerable. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 13% of elementary aged children received some type of sexual solicitation and approach.
