The Elgin FFA Chapter attends Range Judging Events
District Range Judging - Madison County
The Elgin FFA Chapter attended the area range judging and state. Twenty-nine youth attend the Area 5 contest in Battle Creek, Nebraska on Wednesday the 24th of September to gain some practice before they went to the state range judging and compete with area schools. The senior division team of Linsey Bode, Nathan Niewohner, Carlie Redding and Justin Reestman finished third overall in the contest. Individually in the senior division the same four students were recognized for finishing in the top 20% of all competitors. Linsey Bode and Carlie Redding tied for 6th, Justin Reestman finished 9th and Nathan Niewohner finished 11th.
In the junior division the top junior team of Grant Beckman, Alex Dierks, Justine Meis, and Jared Seier finished 7th and the team of Brieann Grosserode, Jessica Heithoff, Sebastian Janssen and A.J. Braband finished 8th. At the area event the following individual students were recognized for finishing in the top 20 %. Evan Parks 9th, Grant Beckman 13th, Jessica Heithoff 15th, Justine Meis 20th, Alex Dierks 21st, and Caleb Pelster 21st.
State Range Judging - Garfield County
Twenty-four youth from the Elgin FFA Chapter attended the State Range Judging contest held outside of Burwell on Wednesday the 1st of October. There were over 450 students registered to compete in the state contest.
The senior division team of Carlie Redding, Justin Reestman, and Linsey Bode finished 6th in the state. Individually Linsey Bode was the State Champion Runner- up and Justin Reestman finished 18th overall in the senior division.
The junior division team of Grant Beckman, Justine Meis, Alex Dierks and Evan Parks finished 10th in the state. Individually Grant Beckman finished 13th, Dean Braband finished 24th, Justine Meis finished 49th, Jared Seier finished 50th, and Alex Dierks finished 52nd. These students all finished in the top 20% of all junior competitors and recognized for their efforts.
