Curt Tomasevicz
Olympic Gold Medalist
Elgin Public students and staff had the rare privilege of having an Olympic champion speak on Monday at the school. Gold Medalist, Curt Tomasevicz, spoke to the students about not only his Olympic experiences but of his life experiences and growing up in the small town of Shelby, Nebraska. Curt reminded students to always remember where they came from, where they are and where they are going.
Curt showed the students his gold medal, some of his bobsledding equipment and a video of his Olympic race. He talked about the opportunity for world travel that the sport had allowed him and how his gloves went into outer space with fellow Nebraskan, Clayton Anderson. Curt's talk was followed by a question and answer session.
