5th grade Field Trip Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo
On May 11th the 5th graders went on an exciting field trip to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. We had many adventures throughout the day that made the trip very fun. We loaded the bus at 6:15 a.m. and headed to the zoo. The students were filled with excitement and could not wait to arrive and start making our way through the zoo. The students saw many different animals on our 5 hour tour of the zoo. We left the zoo around 2:30 and had a very interesting ride home to make the trip very exciting. After waiting on the side of the road for about 20 minutes for a storm to blow past we arrived home shortly before 6. Check out the pictures of the students and some of the animals they saw.

We were talking about how there were very few left.I was thinking I'm gonna take one home.If you look closly on the first picture,you will see there is a lion right by my head,I just saw that and I said 'It's gonna eat my head'.When we went down to the Cat Complex which has all the cats.We were saying that what they were playing with was amazing.There was a ball,ahole with newspaper in it.I was glad I goto go there in 5th grade!!!! |
shelby lynn dohmen | May 12, 2011 | I loved the zoo and all the animals, but my favorite animal was the lemur I loved the tigers too. The cool thing for me was that there were theese monkeys that made the freakiest sound and their neck puffed out like a bubble,one of the noises was like a little boy screaming like....."aaaaaaaaoooooo" it was pretty cool I go there every year with my grand parents in the summer but this was absoulutly one of the best times I went.On the way home we were caught in a storm, but everything turned out great my friend andrew sanderson even bought me a bag of painted rocks. I can't wait to see it again this summer! |
