Entrepreneurship Students Gain Hands-On Experience with Industry Tools

The Entrepreneurship class recently had the opportunity to learn from Katrina Gotschall, ESU Teaching & Learning Specialist, who visited to provide hands-on guidance and support. Her visit focused on helping students strengthen both their creative and technical skills—key components of running a successful student-led business.

During her time in the classroom, Gotschall worked with students to create professional-quality photo collages using Canva. She demonstrated design techniques, layout strategies, and tips for producing visually appealing products that can be marketed through the school store.

In addition to design work, Gotschall provided valuable instruction on how to more effectively use the class’s Canon EOS R6 camera, which was purchased through Perkins funding. Students learned how to improve photo quality by adjusting settings, framing shots, and understanding lighting, skills that will directly enhance the products they create and sell.

This experience allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, strengthening their confidence in both photography and product development. Opportunities like this continue to support the growth of the Entrepreneurship program while preparing students with valuable, career-ready skills.
