2020 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grade Still Life

Triangular Composition-objects are arranged in a triangle.

Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth grade Art students may set up your own still life at home.  You may have from one to five objects.  Make sure to overlap them (one object in front of the other).  Look at the examples of composition to see how you want to arrange your objects.  Shade your objects using your drawing pencils, a #2 pencil, colored pencils and/or crayons.  If you have pastels or charcoal at home you may use that as well.  Whatever supplies you have at home will work for this assignment.  Be sure to have three to five values that GRADUALLY blend from dark to light.

Slideshow three shows Kira's still life that she set up in the classroom and then drew using charcoal.

Look around the house and see what interesting objects you can find to draw!

Take a picture of your still life when you've finished and send it to me at rita.heithoff@elgineagles.org

Be sure to include your name and grade in the email!
