Mr. Corey Fisher, High School Principal and Activities Director

Proud to be an Elgin Eagle!

By Corey Fisher

August 20, 2008

Welcome!  The start of the 2008-2009 school year will mark the beginning of my fifth year at Elgin Public Schools as the High School Principal, Activities Director and Student Council Advisor.  I enjoy my job and believe that I am part of one of the best small schools in Nebraska.  We have one of the most talented and dedicated staffs that have had the privilege to work in this district and rest assured that they will provide a great education to all students.  As a part of the NVC Conference, we take pride in both our academic and athletic successes.  Since 1874 students in the Elgin district have been privileged to a fine education and I am confident that we will continue the traditions that have been built the last 134 years!

Before becoming an administrator here at EPS, I served as the K-12 Health and Physical Education teacher here at Elgin Public Schools for five years beginning in the fall of 1998. During that time, I was also the head girls basketball coach, head golf coach and assistant football coach.

I grew up in Arapahoe, Nebraska for nearly all of my childhood and graduated in from Arapahoe High School in 1992.

I attended college at Wayne State College where I earned a BS in Education with a Health and Physical Education Endorsement and Coaching Endorsement.  I earned my Masters Degree in Education Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

I left Elgin for one year and served as the Principal and A.D. at Litchfield Public School before returning to Elgin Public.

My wife, Andrea, and I enjoy the community of Elgin and are proud to make it our home. We have a dog named Bo and my hobbies include hunting, golfing, spending time at EHS activities, Kansas Jayhawk basketball (2008 National Champions!) and Husker football.

If you wish to contact me, please feel free to do so at your convenience.

My office phone number is 843-2457

My e-mail address at school is cfisher@esu8.org

I look forward to a great 2008-2009 school year.

GO EAGLES!!!
