Dual Credit Informational Meeting
EPS has several dual credit courses for students entering or in 10th, 11th, or 12th grades. Some courses are available via on-site teachers who are dual credit certified. Other courses are available through both online and hybrid platforms through dual credit certified teachers from area colleges. There is policy to help guide both parents and students to help make best choices when considering dual credit courses. This video helps parents and students become familiar with EPS policy and serves as a reference as well. It is required that both parent and student "attend" Dual Credit Informational Meeting and both student and parent must sign the Elgin Public School Dual Credit Application.

The following classes are mandatory in meeting these requirements: Algebra I, Geometry, American History, American Government, Geography, Physical Science, Biology, Health/P.E., Personal Communication (Speech), Personal Finance ,English 9, English 10, English 11, and English 12 or Dual Credit English/Literature
(Algebra I is available for high school credit in 8th grade upon teacher recommendation. If taken in 8th grade, student must maintain at least 80% average in order to proceed.) One semester of work constitutes 5 credits. You are required to take a minimum of 7 classes each semester and in doing so will not encounter any difficulty in meeting the minimum graduation requirements. Only in special circumstances will the 7-class limit be deviated from in any way.
