Having effective leadership is vital to the well being of a school district
Well written board policies should provide the framework that a school needs to be efficient and effective
Board and superintendent need to understand each others roles and responsibilities in order to form an effective, cohesive team
One can accomplish more working with people rather than dictating to them
The health of the community and the schools that serve it are intertwined and dependent upon one another
Advocates of quality education must compete effectively in the political arena for an adequate share of state and national resources
All children can learn. It is the school's responsibility to provide them with the tools they need to learn at their level
All children deserve quality educational opportunities
Differentiated learning, if taught correctly, can address the learning needs of most students
Educators need to work with parents in developing the most effective learning environment for each child
Curriculum and the people that teach it are the heart and soul of a school system
The application of academic rigor is a must if schools are to continually improve
Extracurricular activities can be valuable learning experiences for students
School systems need to actively seek top quality candidates for their system
There should be no retention of mediocre or marginal teachers in an effective system
