Football Playoffs

The community of Elgin came together last night to honor the coaches and players from Elgin Public and Pope John before they head down to Lincoln for state playoffs. The press was on hand from several newspapers, tv and radio stations to cover the historical event. It is the first time both teams from a small town have qualified for state.
The night's activities included performances by both schools' dance teams, the players offering congratulations to each other on the field, pep talk from the coaches, introduction of the players, a skit with the coaches and an autograph session by the players and coaches.
