The Elgin Eagles wrapped up the holiday break with two wins to bring home the championship of the Elgin Holiday Basketball Tournament. The Eagles beat Rising City in the opener 77-42 and then won the championship game with a 55-43 victory over Cedar Rapids. The Eagles now have a 5-3 record as they head into the second semester. Big games await the Eagles after the break as they prepare for the conference tournament at the end of January. Check back for further updates as the basketball season progresses.
