Chapter Celebrated National FFA Week February
17th–23rd, students participated during the
week in the following activities. On Monday students dressed
as their “Favorite Farm Animal”, Tuesday was “Official Dress Day”,
Wednesday was “Farm Accident Day”, Thursday was “Hick Day”,
Jessica, Amanda, Carlie and Linsey show off their "Hick Day Styles"

and Friday
was “Blue and Gold Pride Day”. On Wednesday during the week
the FFA Officers served breakfast to the staff at E.H.S. during
their late start in-service. Wednesday was a bitterly
cold day however two brave students still chose to drive their
tractors to school to take part in the festivities of tractor
day. Thursday was a special day for the Elgin FFA Chapter as
the State FFA President Sarah Novotny from Kimball and State FFA
Vice-President Leighton Wier from Ord visited. The state
officers conducted leadership workshops throughout the day in Mr.
Simpson’s Ag Classes. Thursday was also Ugly Truck Day and we
had four entries in this years contest.

Friday
the FFA Officers served ice cream to the 7 – 12 student body after
lunch to celebrate the hard work that was done during the canned
food drive after Christmas. During the canned food drive the Elgin
FFA Chapter contributed over 1000 cans of food to the Antelope
County Food Pantry. The second grade class was served Brownie
Sundaes on Friday afternoon, as they were the elementary class that
collected the most canned food items for the food drive.
