Solar system models
Earth science students think out of this world!
by Sara Walsh
September 23, 2008
Jewelry, marshmallows, rubber balls, Styrofoam, cake—all were used by the 8th graders to create their solar system models this year!
To create a model comparing both size and distance would be virtually impossible, so students were to focus on size comparisons. They also included the Earth’s moon, the asteroid belt, and other planetary features such as Saturn’s rings. After the projects were graded by other classmates and Mrs. Walsh, students enjoyed eating some of them!Click on the link to view all student
projects!
