President Heithoff called the Special October 24th, 2008 Elgin Public School Board Meeting to order at 5:30 PM. Board members present were Steve Heithoff, Stan Heithoff, Bruce Anderson, Laurie Waterbury and Scott Beckman. Mary Bauer was absent. Superintendent Lee Hall and Dennis Morgan of the Elgin Review were also present.
President Heithoff reminded everyone that a copy of the Nebraska open meeting law was posted in the meeting room.
School board meeting notice complied with Meeting Notice Policy # 204.07.
Purpose of the special meeting was to approve Dr. Fredrickson’s resignation and settlement agreement, and to extend a superintendent contract to Lee Hall.
Waterbury moved to excuse Bauer from the meeting. Stan Heithoff seconded the motion and it carried on a 5 to 0 yes vote.
Anderson moved to adopt the special meeting agenda as presented. Beckman second. Motion passed with a unanimous 5 to 0 yes vote.
Stan Heithoff moved to accept Dr. Gayla Fredrickson’s resignation as Superintendent of Elgin Public Schools. Beckman second. Motion passed on a 5 to 0 yes vote.
Waterbury moved to approve the settlement agreement with Dr. Fredrickson. Anderson second. Motion approved with a unanimous yes vote.
Beckman moved to approve the Superintendent Contract with Lee Hall. This contract ends June 30, 2009. Waterbury second. This motion passed on a 5 to 0 yes vote.
Beckman moved to adjourn the October 24th Special Meeting. Stan Heithoff seconded the motion and it passed with a 5 to 0 yes vote. The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 PM.
