A MUSICAL, MAGICAL CHRISTMAS!
Whether we are ready for it or not, the holiday season is upon us! The students have started preparing for the Christmas concert, the cast for the musical is picked, costumes are getting put together and we’ll soon be ready to perform for you.
The Christmas concert is Monday, December 15th at 7:00 p.m. It will be held in the gym. It would be wonderful to have a big audience – there is surely some Christmas cheer to bring for all of you to enjoy! The little children (Pre-school through 2nd grade) will be singing some familiar carols and some new songs with a slight twist. The concert band and high school choir will perform traditional Christmas songs along with something new and beautiful for all to hear.
Grades three – six will be performing the musical “Santa’s Shopping Network”. All you have to do is call 1-800-HoHoHo to let Santa know 3 presents you want for Christmas. But… the Network Gang is concerned that a group of school kids is taking advantage of the situation – ordering LOTS of gifts to an address that isn’t even on the list! So Santa orders the kids to come to the North Pole to see what is going on. We find out that all is well - the students have ordered one of their gifts to be delivered to the homeless children at the shelter. What a wonderful Christmas for them!
That is what we would like to do this holiday season at Elgin Public Schools. Mrs. Jones has contacted the Salvation Army in Norfolk and we ask that audience families attending the concert donate a new small toy or game as your "admission charge" this year. It will be our way of saying "Merry Christmas" to children who are in need in Northeast Nebraska - you can help make their Christmas the best ever! We hope to see all of you there. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
