The First Day
2009-2010 School Year
Everyone has been busy preparing for the 2010 school year. The custodians were helping teachers move furniture around as the last classrooms were carpeted. The teachers and administration have been meeting all week to prepare for students today.
The 7-12 started off in the gym for introductions and a little fun with some team building exercises. After that they were off to their meetings with their advisors followed by the class meetings.
In the class meetings the first order of business was electing officers and student council representatives. Fund raisers, magazine sales, prom, senior pictures and sneak were also topics of discussion. Everyone then headed over for lunch.
After lunch the kids were off to their first period class. They were dismissed at 2:00 for the day.
The first day of school is in the bag and we're ready to make 2010 another outstanding year at Elgin Public Schools!
