To
wrap up our outcome of solar system studies, the Earth Science
class recently created solar system models. Their
requirements included the sun, 9 planets (including dwarf planet
Pluto), our moon, and the asteroid belt. They were to show
the relative sizes of the planets, however it is virtually
impossible to also show relative distances using the same scale.
There
was no limit to creativity this year! Many of the students
brought edible models, so everyone enjoyed eating the solar systems
at the end of class!
Madi's Rice Krispie model was brightly colored and very creative!
Ivy's orbital rings made the order of the planets clearly visible.
Abbi even had some "comets" in hers (extra treats!)
Brett's project did an excellent job of showing relative sizes of planets!
Hunter proudly displays her brightly color Rice Krispie creation.
