A Visit with Mrs. Claus!
Mrs. Claus made a stop at the Educational Service Unit in Neligh for a videoconference with several area schools. The Kindergarten through 3rd grades were able to participate in the videoconference with Mrs. Claus. The videoconference was viewed via the polycom cart the elementary received this last fall.
The students wrote letters or drew pictures of which were mailed to Mrs. Claus. She read some of the questions that were asked from each of the letters and answered them. We found out that there are thousands of elves-too many for her to name. Mrs. Claus also told us that the reindeer will eat almost anything but "venison" burgers! She also secretly told us that Santa Claus is about 550 years old! She commented on the beautiful pictures that the students drew and reminded everyone to always, always be good! The students joined in singing an echo song with Mrs. Claus.
Santa Claus made a surprise appearance right before he and Mrs. Claus departed. They wished everyone a Merry Christmas!

I heard about this experience REPEATEDLY by my daughters--they thought it was great to get to speak to Mrs. Claus. They learned all sorts of new information! Did you know that Santa does not have a favorite reindeer and that they have hundreds of elves worked at the North Pole? |
