2010 Wakefield Art Show
"The Big Show"
The Elgin Public 8th-12th grade Art students competed at the Wakefield Invitational Art Show on Wednesday, March 24th. The high school students were awarded 80 ribbons while the the 8th grade won 18. 8th graders Brett Kinney and Hunter Thramer won Judge's Merit awards (purple ribbons) for outstanding work in sculpture and clay.
High school students attending the show were Noel Voborny, Michelle Bauer, Jessica Heithoff, Kevin Schindler, Sebastian Janssen, Anthony Hemenway and Allen Miller. They loaded the van at 6:30 AM to arrive in Wakefield at 8:30. They hung their work before participating in an art activity during the judging. After the judging was completed the work was taken down at 4:00 and they returned home.
The next show is the ESU #8 Invitational at Neligh April 27th followed by the NVC show hosted by Keya Paha at Springview on April 30th.

Noel Voborny with 4 Blues, 2 Reds, 10 Commendables and 3 Honorable Mentions
Jennifer Rhoads brought home 1 Blue, 3 Reds, 5 Commendables and 1 HM
Kevin Schindler-2 Blues, 5 Commendables and 1 HM
Michelle Bauer-1 Red, 5 Commendables and 3 HM
Sebastian Janssen-1 Red, 6 Commendables and 1 HM
Ashley Bode-1 Red and 3 Commendables
Jessica Heithoff-4 Commendables and 3 HM
Cortny Meis-5 Commendables and 2 HM
Anthony Hemenway-4 Commendables
Rose Fangman-1 Commendable and 1 HM
Travis Dozler- 2 Commendables
