2010 Americanism Essay Contest
American Legion Auxiliary
Several students from Elgin Public Schools placed in the annual American Legion Auxiliary's Americanism Essay Contest. This year's title for the essay was "What Is My Patriotic Role as a U.S. Citizen?"
In the 5th and 6th grade division Fifth grader, Elianne Heilhecker placed 3rd while her classmate, Luke Walsh received an Honorable Mention.
Placing in the 7th and 8th grade division were Tera Henkenius-1st, Tanner Welding-2nd and Ivy Prater-3rd. Receiving Honorable Mention were Kelsey Shoemaker, Kyle Heithoff and Hannah Kerkman.
