Grant became a coffee Connoisseur at COLT

The Elgin FFA Chapter is off to a great year. The summer officially began when the new 2011-2012 officers and Mrs. Schwartz headed down to Aurora for COLT. The team had many opportunities to get together to talk about goals and events for the upcoming school year. The biggest goal they had was to do more community service projects. The officer team also had a chance to meet other officers from around the state and the State FFA officers.

The Chapter also got together and decorated a float for the Vetch Day's Parade. We tried to incorporate the "60's" theme into our float so we had Cordell Waterbury drive a 1960 John Deere tractor.

In late July Mrs. Schwartz went to visit a few kids to check out their SAE projects. Most of the students she visited were in the hay field but some also have cattle to take care of or just helping around the farm/ranch where needed.
