School's Recycling program continues to grow!
Nearly three years ago, Elgin Public School began their paper/cardboard recycling program with the GreenFiber Company based in Norfolk. Since then students, staff, and community members have worked together to make our participation in this program a success! Each room at school has a box; these boxes were painted by the Environmental Science students and are for recycling only (paper products). Students are then responsible for taking turns emptying the recycling boxes around school during their study halls once a week.

This year the Environmental Science students created different types of graphs to show the success of the program. When viewed using different techniques, it is easy to spot certain trends (high and low months) and how the program has grown throughout the years.
Thanks for everybody’s effort in using the GreenFiber bins! The GreenFiber bins are located in the parking lot north of the gym. Items that can be placed inside are: paper, newspaper, chipboard, cardboard. Items that are NOT allowed: plastic, string, Styrofoam, aluminum and paper products that are wet or have food and grease on them. Also, so that everybody can fit their paper in the bins, please flatten all cardboard before placing in the bin.
