Reusable Clay and Language Class

The third graders made reusable clay in Language class.  We have been learning how to follow steps/directions in Language.  We had to read a recipe for reusable clay and answer questions with statement sentences.  As a reward for working hard in class, Mrs. Eisenhauer brought the ingredients for the students to make their own clay.  The students mixed flour, salt, vegetable oil, water and food coloring to make their clay.  They chose red food coloring but the clay turned out pink.  So they learned next time to add more food coloring to get the desired color.  Students were able to take home a baggie of their own clay and also the recipe for future making.
