Re:                   Tentative Agenda for the January Meeting

Mtg. Date:       Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in Distance Learning Room.  Board retreat to follow in separate “meeting” after supper.

Agenda Item

1. Open Meeting---DONE BY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
2. Roll Call of Members
3. Pledge of Allegiance
4. Announce Posting of Open Meetings Law
5. Board reorganization- elect board president who then takes over the meeting—board reorganization includes legal designations for bank, newspaper, bus inspector, official financial agent and non-discrimination officer.

6. Minutes of Previous Meeting
7. Adopt the Agenda
8. Financial Report
9. Board Bills

Recognize Visitors

Reports

10. Reports of Standing Committees
11. Report of Principal/AD
12. Superintendent’s Report

Action Items

            None

Discussion Items

13. Discuss supt. and board evaluation tools and Supt. seach
14. Summer projects-- storage building, dump trailer, locker benches, Bus barn, asphalt south parking --for decisions to be made at February meeting.
15. Set Next Regular Meeting
16. Adjourn for supper then return later for board retreat; no action to be taken.

A current copy of the meeting agenda is available in the superintendent’s office.  The agenda shall not be altered within 24 hours of the meeting unless the item is of an emergency nature.

For a board to have a “closed” session a majority of voting members must vote for the session and it must be clearly necessary for either:

1. Protection of the public interest; or,
2. The prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and if  the individual has not requested a public meeting.

The Elgin Public Board of education will hold its annual board retreat in the distance learning room of the high school at 7:45PM Wed. January 15th.  No action will be taken; discussion will involve yearly goals, school improvement, short and long term planning, Superintendent applicants and discussion items from board and admin.….etc.
