Rhino vs Hampster
Questions For Discussion
Devin posed an interesting question; would you rather have a hamster-size rhinoceros or a rhinoceros-size hamster? Why?
I would rather have the hamster size rhino because you would need a Ferris Wheel for a rhino-size hamster to exercise on. Mrs. Heithoff

If the rhino vs hamster question isn't enough for you to ponder, Paula found these interesting points to think about.
Rhino vs Hamster
Paula Jensen | Feb 15, 2010 | Give me a hamster-sized rhino because he would only need a pail of muddy water to keep him content. It would take a lot of cedar chips to keep a rhino-sized hamster happy! |
| Anney Beckmanbeckmana@esu8.orgEPSBookkeeper | Feb 15, 2010 | I don't like hampster sized hampsters let alone rhino sized hampsters!! I'm with Paula Hampster sized rhino for sure!! |
Sara Walsh EPSscience teacher | Feb 15, 2010 | Come on! What would you do with a miniature rhino? They are relatives to the horse, but they would be way too small to ride! Besides, many species of them are ill-tempered and they have poor eyesight. Worthless! On the other hand, if I had a rhino-sized hamster, I would just keep it outside (no woodchips necessary) and it could run around and play! Can you imagine the giant ball in which it could roll down the street! And it would be soft and fuzzy and make a much better pet than a rhino! |
Shoe EPSPunctuation Engineer | Feb 16, 2010 | Can you imagine how terrifying rhino-sized vermin would be? Sidebar: You do realize that this philosophical question emerged in Speech class, don't you? |
Rita Heithoff | Feb 16, 2010 | That may be, but it took the Art teacher to put it on the web for everyone to ponder:) |
miller | Feb 16, 2010 | I would go with the hampster sized rhino. It would eat less. Besides have you ever seen a hamster chew on things? When Mrs. Walsh's big hamster got hungry, it would start eating houses! |
Heidi Rethmeier | Feb 16, 2010 | Under more questions to ponder, there is an actual numerical answer to the twice as cold as 0 degrees and it's not 0. I am such a nerd! |
Rita Heithoff | Feb 16, 2010 | Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery:) |
Ms. Siems | Feb 16, 2010 | I think you all have too much time to ponder! |
Paula Jensen | Feb 16, 2010 | Glad you had time to read our feedback, Ms. Siems! Have a nice day! |
