Wrestling Wrap up
The Wolfpack wresting team recently concluded the 2012 wrestling season with a trip to the state tournament. The meet was held in Omaha at the Century Link Center.
The pack was represented by two athletes. Brett Kinney qualified at 113 pounds and Shane Beckman at 138 pounds. They were unable to earn a medal this year but hopefully this will help lead to a successful season next year
We had nine members on the squad this season. Members this year include Seniors Jared Seier and Shane Vanis, Juniors Shane Beckman, Alex Grosserode, Austin Heying,Tyler Childers; Sophomores Brett Kinney and Freshmen Trent Bauer and Jace Lammers. Student manager was Geoffrey Carr and Statisticians were Mallory Fangman and Morgan Childers. Injuries seemed to take its toll on us this season. We started the season minus state qualifier Jared Seier and as the season progressed we lost Austin and Trent to injuries. Shane Beckman was able to recover from a knee injury just in time to compete in the district tournament. The boys continued to work hard to improve week to week and it showed each meet. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those who followed and supported us this season. It was a very enjoyable season.
